Energy2's Open Evening Update - 12 May 2010

Thanks to everyone who supported the Open Evening yesterday. Guests heard how wood pellets are being produced from timber that would normally be destined for landfill in this unique operation and saw the machinery in operation for the first time.

The auction was conducted by Moore, Allen & Innocent and was great entertainment. Guests got some great bargains too!

Gavin Jones, Chief Executive of Swindon Borough Council, publicly announced the national award that Energy2work has won.

What a great evening highlighting an amazing project supporting people with disabilities and learning difficulties back into work. This in my view is Swindon Borough Council at it's best supporting people that have a tough start in life into work. The young people I met that evening were enthusiastic and made a great impression on me. This is an enterprise that can help tackle the headlines of the day 'climate change'. I wish the project every success and will give my whole hearted support where I am able to.
